Lone Survivor

Mark Wahlberg leads an all star cast of navy SEALs on a mission, based on a true story from 2005.  Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster, and Eric Bana are among the rest of the beefcake ensemble cast in this action flick directed by uber-macho filmmaker Peter Berg.

Ever since SEAL Team 6 took out Osama Bin Laden, navy SEALs have been all the rage.  And it's hard to make a bad movie about them, since their actual missions are more exciting than anything Hollywood could dream up.  (Though 'Act of Valor' was pretty bad due to the fact that the 'actors' were actual Navy SEALs.)  This one's pretty exciting and worth a watch from anyone who's suffering withdrawal from 'Homeland' being on hiatus.  You won't get any romance a la Carrie and Brody, but you'll at least get the tension of a military operation not going according to plan.

Grade: B+

Who is this movie for?  Action buffs and those who can't get enough of Navy SEAL missions.
