In a small and poor town in Paraguay, a boy determined to earn enough money to buy a cell phone gets himself in over his head when he agrees to deliver 7 boxes filled with unknown contents. And along the way he must evade an assortment of bad guys and the local police, all for the $100 he was promised. Though billed as a thriller, it isn't really all that thrilling. Despite its 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I only found it adequately entertaining but nothing all that special especially for a film that has played so many festivals along the international circuit.
'7 Boxes' is in Spanish with English subtitles and is now in limited release in theaters and also available at home on Video on Demand.
Who is this movie for? Fans of Spanish cinema. Casual moviegoers should pass.
