Gugu Mbatha-Raw is the proverbial black sheep for a British aristocratic family. Sure, she is loved by her great uncle, played by Tom Wilkinson. But she isn't allowed to partake in all the reindeer games because she is mixed race. But fortunately she's beautiful, so love is still in the cards for her. Blah. It's just another boring historical costume drama.
Who is this movie for? It's hard for me to come up with any reason why anyone should see it. Though the Merchant-Ivory crowd will probably eat it up. That's just not my crowd, and this seems sub-par even for that genre.
