Run All Night

It's only March 13th and this is already the second Liam Neeson revenge action movie in wide release.  Can you say too much of a good thing?  Ever since Taken in 2009 we've been subjected to countless wannabes.  In fact, even Neeson himself seems to think he's oversaturated, as he just declared he'll only be doing action films for another two years and then no more.

OK, so with that said, how is his latest?  Well, on the plus side, I was pleased by its welcome and talented cast of old timers.  Ed Harris is always worth my time and money.  And so is Vincent D'Onofrio.  And you even get a little Nick Nolte and Bruce McGill.  So that's all good.  But, at the end of the day, Run All Night is just another Neeson revenge action film, and nothing special with regards to story or action.  It's fine, but I wouldn't go see it for anything but the cast.

Grade: B-

Who is this movie for?  It's comfort food for guys who like Neeson's schtick.
