Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House

Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House Poster

You may not know Mark Felt by name.  But you may know the handle he was given by the media: Deep Throat.  And yes, this is yet another retelling of the Watergate scandal that eventually brought down Richard Nixon in the 70's.  So how's it different from the 70's classic All the President's Men?  Well, it's not all that different.  But it is from Felt's (played by Liam Neeson) perspective, rather than from journalists Woodward and Bernstein.

Grade: B+

Who is this movie for?  Personally I feel like I knew the story and didn't need to see this.  But the ensemble cast is good and it's well made.  So if you're interested in the Watergate scandal go see it.

The Mountain Between Us

The Mountain Between Us Poster

Kate Winslet and Idris Elba play two traveling strangers who get stranded out in the snowy mountains.  Together they must battle all the hazards of nature in order to survive.

Grade: B

Who is this movie for?  Fans of (wo)man vs. nature adventure / dramas should find this adequately but not excessively interesting.  It's not one of the best in the genre.  But there's no denying these are two quality actors.  And attractive to boot.
